I have always been involved in charitable work. From before when I worked in the corporate world to now as a photographer, I feel that helping others is a worthy thing to do. So when I was informed that my nephew, who has autism, was invited to compete in the Special Olympics Texas 2007 Area 6 Bowling Competition, I jumped in the car and drove to the bowling alley. Below are just a few pictures of him and his fellow competitors that I had the honor to capture during their competition.

As with all Olympic events they had the presentation of the flag and the torch bearer. We had the honor to have a young man who is currently serving in Iraq but was on leave present the flag for the Nation Anthem. Also, one of the competitors carried the Olympic torch to start the competition. Enjoy the few pictures I have posted here.

If you would like to volunteer at a Special Olympics event, click the link –> Special Olympics Texas to learn how you can help at one of the events. They appreciate they help and can always use the extra pair of hands!
