So we survived IKE. Unlike many who lost house, car, essentially everything, Amy andI did not have any structural damage to our house\/fences. The only thing we can see so far since we did lose power and it hasn’t been restored, it there was some water leaking over our breakfast table area. It appears that the winds forced water up a heat venting on the roof and rainwater was forced in the attic area which pooled enough to start leaking thorough the roof.<\/div>\n

So Saturday after the residue IKE rainstorms stopped, we drove around to “charge the cell phones” and take a look around. I REALLY do count us fortunate as you will see in some of the pictures. Many fences, lots of trees and some roof damage to the houses in our little area of Houston where we live. If you are familiar, you should recognize the Jersey Village area, which is the area near our house.<\/p>\n

We are very sad to those whose lives have been dramatically altered by the storm. They and their families are in our thoughts during this time.<\/p>\n

Very lucky we are and even more so that I am currently in an air conditioned house with Internet access (electricity, my shackle) so I can bring you some pictures of the area around our house. Click on the 1st picture to view all in a larger view.<\/p>\n
